TIMERGARA: Adviser to the prime minister, Amir Muqam, has lauded the Rangers’ operation in Karachi, saying that the government and military establishment are committed to ending terrorism in all parts of the country.

He was addressing a public gathering at Luqman Banda after inaugurating a power feeder at Saddo grid station and Nadra office at Khall here on Saturday.

Mr Muqam said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken a bold decision regarding Karachi operation.

He said that the government should take serious notice of the tone used by Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain against the Pakistan Army.

About performance of the federal government, he said that work was underway on mega development projects in different parts of the country. He said that the prime minister would visit Peshawar on March 25 where he would announce a special package for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PML-N leader said that Chakdara-Chitral highway would be rebuilt according to international standard.

He said that Rs100 million had already been approved for gas distribution in Adenzai tehsil of Lower Dir.

He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led government in the province was not sincere in solution of the people’s problems. He claimed that millions of rupees were spent on PTI chief Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak’s visit to Chakdara on March 10.

“They used two separate helicopters and planted only one tree,” he said, adding that both the leaders announced nothing for development of the area.

The function was also addressed by former provincial minister Malik Jehanzeb, PML-N provincial vice-president Farid Khan Yousafzai, president youth wing Akhunzada Azhar and others.

BUS STAND: Assistant commissioner, Adenzai, Zahid Pervez, has said that a bus stand having all facilities for passengers would be constructed at Chakdara.

Talking to media persons here at his office, he said that 12 kanals had been marked for the purpose at Mela Ground and construction work was started. He said that the administration had taken notice of traffic mess in Chakdara due to encroachments and it wanted to facilitate the transporters and commuters.

He said that the old bus stand would be converted into public car parking. He said that the administration had been raiding markets in order to ensure provision of daily use commodities to the people on official rates.
