RAWALPINDI: A urologist has received extortion threat on his cellphone allegedly from outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The doctor, who requested not to be named, said he recieved the call on February 26 and the caller identified himself as member of the TTP.
He demanded Rs10 million otherwise his family would be targeted.
DSP Civil Lines circle Farhan Aslam said they were trying to trace the caller with the help of the cellphone data.
He said the doctor had been provided security.
When asked whether the threatening call was made from Afghanistan, the police officer replied that the mobile phone had been switched off.
