LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Friday sentenced a man and a woman to eight years in prison for creating a bomb hoax at Lahore airport.

Kashif and Sonia were found guilty of informing the airport authorities in July 2014 that some terrorists were flying in from Muscat to attack the airport.

The authorities followed the threat, however, it emerged that the suspects had misinformed the officials to trap Sonia’s husband Dildar. The authorities recorded Dildar’s statement.

Counsel for the suspects submitted before the court that his clients had made the call for a fun.

The court heard arguments from both sides and sent the suspects to jail for eight years.
