KARACHI: Patches of clouds hovered over the city throughout Friday but it rained in some areas in the evening, said a Met official.

The official told Dawn that there were chances of rain on Saturday. The city sky had remained partly cloudy during the day but drizzle was reported from only Gulistan-i-Jauher, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road etc in the evening, he said, adding that later rain lashed some areas of the city.

He said the minimum temperature recorded in the city on Friday was 13 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature recorded was 28 degrees Celsius. Humidity — a measure of the amount of moisture in the air — was recorded at 21 per cent.

He said the minimum temperature in the city was expected to range between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius on Saturday and the sky was expected to be partly cloudy and there were chances of rain.

Meanwhile, in view of forecast of further rains, municipal commissioner Masood Alam declared emergency in all essential services departments, including fire brigade, municipal services and medical services, and ordered staffers to ensure presence at their work.
