KARACHI: Noted critic and poet Syed Ahmed Hamadani passed away after a long illness on Thursday. He was 90.
Mr Hamadani was born on Oct 10, 1924 in Meerut, UP, India. He did his graduation in 1947 from Agra University and migrated to Pakistan. In 1951, he joined the Radio Pakistan and ultimately rose to the post of senior producer.
Recognised as a critic and poet of ghazal, he had to his credit seven books, of which Qissa nai saheri ka won the Dawood Literary Award.
He will be laid to rest in the Karachi University graveyard after Juma prayers.
