LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says Qatar will invest in various sectors of national development in Pakistan as well as extend all-out cooperation in coping with energy crisis.
The chief minister met with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Sunday, says a handout issued here.
Sharif said the meeting agreed to promote Pak-Qatar relations and cooperation in economic and trade sectors.
He said the Qatar emir assured him that besides meeting gas requirements of Pakistan, Doha would also continue its cooperation in agriculture, power generation and manpower sectors.
The chief minister said trade and economic relations between the two countries would further strengthen in future.
He said: “Qatar is extending invaluable cooperation to Pakistan in overcoming energy crisis and expressed the hope that Pakistan will be able to get rid of loadshedding with the cooperation of its friendly countries.”
He said there were vast opportunities of investment in Pakistan especially Punjab and the government was providing maximum facilities to foreign investors on a priority basis.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Spokesman to Prime Minister Mussadaq Malik were also present on the occasion.
