Plea against PAT chief disposed of

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions court on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and others for non prosecution.

Hajan Momina of Kot Lakhpat filed the petition seeking registration of a criminal against Dr Qadri, his son Hasan Mohyuddin, daughter Fatima and PAT president Raheeq Abbasi for not paying agreed amount of Rs3,500 per women to her seven-member group for participating in Inqilab March and Islamabad sit-in.

The petitioner had not been appearing on last three hearings despite repeated court notices.

The counsel for Minhajul Quran stated that the woman was not a member of the TMQ and was levelling allegations against his clients. He said the Faisal Town station house officer in his comments before the court also confirmed that the woman never participated in the PAT Inqilab March and sit-in.

AD&SJ Masood Husain disposed of the petition for non prosecution.
