ISLAMABAD: Member administration and estate, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amer Ali Ahmed, on Sunday said the CDA would ensure the provision of quality vegetables, fruits and other edible items at its weekly bazaars.

He directed the weekly bazaar administration to ensure the supply of these items on the prescribed rates, says a press release.

Amer Ali was presiding a meeting held at the CDA headquarters to assess the demand and supply of daily-use items at the weekly bazaars.

He was informed that fruits and vegetables were being sold in the weekly bazaars at rates lower than the markets in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Besides, potato, onion, tomato, ginger, peas, carrot, bell pepper, pomegranate, guava and orange were selling at Rs40, Rs30, Rs60, Rs240, Rs90, Rs40, Rs140, Rs380, Rs100 and Rs120 per kg/dozen respectively in other markets of Islamabad while these commodities were available at the weekly bazaar for Rs25, Rs25, Rs40, Rs116, Rs60, Rs24, Rs56, Rs180, Rs60 and Rs80 per kg/dozen.

Amer Ali directed the bazaar administration not only to ensure the provision of quality food items at affordable rates but also take effective security measures to avoid any untoward incident.
