DERA MURAD JAMALI: In the wake of Friday’s blowing up of the pipeline supplying gas to the Uch Power Plant, which created a country-wide electricity crisis, another major pipeline was damaged by suspected militants in Dera Allahyar area of Nasirabad division late on Saturday night.

Police said that saboteurs placed an explosive device along the pipeline in Noor Khan village near the Bypass area of Dera Allahyar and detonated it with remote control.

It was an alternative 19-inch-diameter pipeline used in case of emergency, official sources said. A big portion of the pipeline was destroyed in the huge blast which rocked the Dera Allahyar town.

The repair of the pipeline will be undertaken on Sunday after security clearance.
