White Collar’s Matt Bomer is all set to play the celebrated Hollywood actor Montgomery Clift in an upcoming HBO biopic based on the life of the star, reported People.

Titled Monty Clift, the film will be scripted by Ira Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias, known for 2014 feature film Love is Strange.

Best known for many classics like The Heiress, Red River, From Here to Eternity; Clift was a close friend of Elizabeth Taylor—his co-star in A Place in the Sun and Civil war epic Raintree Couny. Monty Clift will be focusing on the relationship between the two stars.

Although Clift was secretly a homosexual, his sexuality was never discussed publicly as such, at least not when he was alive. However two of posthumous biographies in the 70s confirmed that he was gay. Clift passed away in 1965 due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 45.

Matt Bomer who won a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor in HBO’s The Normal Heart, a film based on the theme of homosexuality has been married to Simon Halls since 201. He recently wrapped shooting for comedy-drama Magic Mike: XXL, alongside Channing Tatum.
