Imran Abbas’s debut role in Creature 3D might not have turned heads but the model-turned-actor sure knows how to stay in the news. Hosting the Indian Big Star Entertainment Awards on New Year’s Eve, Imran invited the ravishing Priyanka Chopra to Pakistan as he wooed her with an Urdu couplet.

Co-hosting the show with Sunil Grover, Imran played along with the gimmicks and made his presence felt as he dedicated an Urdu couplet to Priyanka Chopra who came on stage to receive the “Big Star Most Entertaining Actor in Social Drama” award for her role Mary-Kom.

"Tumharay baad bhi chehre bohat haseen hain magar

Jo tujh ko dekh chukka ho woh aur kya dekhe''

[There are many beautiful faces other than yours alas

What else would one see after looking at you]

Imran said the traditional “adaab” as she praised the lines and presented her with a red rose from behalf of Pakistan and his own self, as a gesture of good faith between both countries.

As she got down from the stage thanking him for the rose, Imran also invited her to Pakistan:

“It would be our deepest wish that you’d visit Pakistan to receive the whole bouquet.”

Imran Abbas is not the first Pakistani to host film awards in India as singer-actor Ali Zafar had also been selected to host the Box Office Awards in October.
