LAHORE: While Kashif Jawad’s hat-trick helped Port Qasim Authority (PQA) thrash Islamabad, Police and Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) also registered wins as three more matches were decided at the 61st PSO National Hockey Championships in Sialkot on Monday.

PQA earned a massive 6-1 victory over Islamabad as Kashif struck goals in the 32nd, 38th and 54th minutes through field attempts. Yasir Dilawar also pumped in two goals (6th and 27th), converting short corners while Suleman Khan (25th) struck one goal to complete the tally.

Islamabad’s solitary goal came from Nouman (60th).

Meanwhile, Police trounced Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3-0 as Amir (33rd), Suleman (40th) and Sharjeel (50th) scored the goals.

In another match, PSM carved out a 3-1 win against Balochistan as Javed (21st), Sarfraz (46th) and Irfan (55th) scored for the victors. Asfand (8th) recorded consolation goal for Balochistan.

Tuesday’s fixtures:

Customs vs Islamabad; Punjab vs Sindh; PIA vs PAF.
