QUETTA: Police defused two bombs at the main railway track running through the Sariab area on Saturday night, apparently planted to blow up the Rawalpindi-bound Jaffar Express.
Police said they found two bombs under the main railway line linking Quetta to the rest of the country after people of the nearby Musa Colony informed them about the suspect packets kept there.

The railway authorities stopped Jaffar Express, which was about to leave Quetta for Rawalpindi, when they learnt about the bombs.
“Each bomb weighed five kilograms and they were placed on the track near a railway bridge,” Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema said, adding that timely detection of bombs had saved Jaffar Express from disaster.
Jaffar Express was allowed to resume its journey after clearance of the track by security forces.
