LAHORE: Wapda and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) earned identical 3-1 wins as three more matches were decided in the 61st PSO National Hockey Championship at Sialkot on Saturday.

Wapda carved out victory against Navy as Umar Bhutta (fifth minute), Aleem Bilal (22nd) and M Imran (55th) scored with Mohammad Sabir netting the lone goal for the losers in the 45th.

Two goals by Hassan Ubaid through short-corners in the 26th and 39th inspired HEC’s win over Islamabad.

Azhar Tariq scored their third in the 56th with Noman having briefly equalised for Islamabad in the 37th.

Also, two goals by Shahid Anjum guided Punjab to a 3-0 win over Railways. Shahid got his goals in the 27th and 59th minutes, with Ali Raza scoring in the 54th.

Meanwhile, Punjab manager Olympian Tariq Sheikh and coach Sabir Ali have been banned by the tournament director for one and two matches respectively for misbehaving with the field jury.
