Amazing animal regeneration

THIS is regarding the cover story “Amazing animal regeneration” compiled by Ambreen Arshad (YW, December 6, 2014). It was a fabulous article. I was amazed to read about these bizarre creatures regenerating their limbs and tails. I was surprised to see the works of nature.

I would like to request the YW team to always cover topics which are amazing like this one and increase our knowledge.

THE cover story “Amazing animal regeneration”, compiled by Ambreen Arshad was very informative article. I was awestruck to read about animals which can re-grow their limbs. I would like to request the writer to write more articles with amazing information regarding animals and plants in them.

All about puppets

THIS is with reference to the letter “All about puppets” by Neelofer Qureishi (YW, December 6, 2014).

I agree with Neelofer that the cover story on puppets was a reminder to all of us and our kids that puppets have great significance in most cultures around the world, but unfortunately they have lost their importance with time. However, we should tell our kids more about puppetry and its role in entertainment and education in our culture.

How to focus when studying

THIS is with reference to the cover story “How to focus when studying” by Naveed Fayyaz (YW, November 29, 2014). The article was very nicely written. But I like the “Exercise to improve concentration,” in the same article. We have read mostly about what one should do to improve his/her concentration while studying, but exercises are hardly covered in any article. So this was a great addition to the cover story and I would definitely do these exercises while studying.

Similar illustrations

THIS is regarding the letter “Horrible illustrations” by Kiran and Affan Mushtaq (YW, December 6, 2014).

I agree with the writers’ views regarding the illustrations made by Ghazala; often times, I have noticed mistakes such as in the story “Calling the spirits” by Arif Iftikhar (YW, October 25, 2014), the characters in the story were only four while the illustration showed five.

Apart from that, the illustrations are not well made. They have similar expressions and features, there is nothing new.
