LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) will hold protest rallies in 60 towns on Sunday (tomorrow) against terrorism and to express solidarity with the families of those killed in the Peshawar carnage.

PAT President Dr Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi told a party meeting here on Friday that 40 committees would oversee the protest rallies.

The meeting was attended by PAT Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Sajid Bhatti, Ahmad Nawaz, Jawad Sajid and Hafiz Ghulam Fareed.

The rallies will be held in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Larkana, Hyderabad, Multan, Mirpur, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ismael Khan, Muzaffarabad and other towns.

Dr Abbasi read out a message of PAT Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri saying the militants wanted to bring a bad name to Islam and the state of Pakistan and the PAT would do all in its power to thwart these nefarious designs.
