LAHORE: Two unidentified people shot at and killed a man in a drive-by shooting in Shalimar on GT Road on Wednesday, police said.

Yaseen, 40, was traveling on his motorcycle when two gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted him near Fazal Sweets on GT Road and shot at him. Yaseen sustained bullet injuries and died on his way to hospital. The attackers fled the scene.

Police shifted the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

Shalimar Station House Officer Safdar Sajjad told Dawn police were working to ascertain the identity of the killers and the motive behind the killing.

He said the heirs had not approached them for lodging a first information report.

Mughalpura Deputy Superintendent of Police Abdul Qayyum quoting Yaseen’s father Asghar Malik said Yaseen was killed by his rivals.

He said the family was avoiding to share the detail of killing with police.
