KARACHI: Apropos the report captioned ‘Question mark over KU criminology dept persists’ published in Dawn’s Dec 10 issue, Dr Fateh Mohammad Burfat, chairman of the department of criminology of Karachi University, has clarified that he is a serving professor at the KU and that the criminology department was established in accordance with the rules.

“The department was duly approved by university’s statutory bodies that included the board of studies, the board of faculty, the academic council and the syndicate,” he said in a statement, adding that his appointment was also approved by the relevant bodies.
