BANNU: Two passers-by were injured when a roadside blast targeting a security forces vehicle went off in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station here on Tuesday.

Police said the bomb was fitted by unknown miscreants to a motorcycle at Allah Wala Chowk, which exploded as soon as the security vehicle passed the place. Two passers-by identified as Noor Alam Jan and Javed Khan of Chakkar Mandan suffered wounds in the blast. They were taken to the district headquarters hospital, Bannu, where doctors said that their condition was stable.

The security forces cordoned off the area soon after the incident and collected evidence from the blast site.

The BDU officials said that the bomb was homemade and fitted to a motorbike.
