KARACHI: Seasoned trainer Mohyuddin partnered quadruple as riders Sohail Ahmed and Zubair Ahmed piloted home a brace of winners to steal limelight in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Mohyuddin, who had an eight-year stint in England from 2002 to 2010 and was promoted as assistant to trainer stable due to his sheer hard work, saddled two winners each of owners Syed Sibghatullah Shah Pir Pagara an M. Zaid Khan Tessori in a small five-race card.

The only exception was Zahrat Dubai co-owned by Faisal Farooq and M. Sohail.

At the outset, second favourite bay colt Postal Address made it two wins on the trot by galloping to three lengths victory with rider Sohail Ahmed astride.

Owned by Pir Pagara, the winning colt beat colt Hot Boy for the honours as favourite filly Princess Chakwal finished third two lengths further behind. Bay horse Sohna Noor completed the frame among six starters.

Riding boy Faizan Ali created quite a stir when he guided outsider filly Khazana to four and three quarter-of-a-length victrory over filly Sonia Again as Pir Pagara completed a double in the second race.

It was second career triumph of 17-year-old riding prodigy Faizan as he had steered Postal Address to victory in the preceding week.

Rider Zubair survived injuries as he fell from favourite Bang Bang as soon as his mount took the jump at the starting gate.

Colt Tejori and chestnut horse Gold Horse gave its owner Zaid Khan Tessori victories in the third and fifth races. The former got the better of co-favourite Shahzad Love by three-quarter-of-a-length while the latter, who was the second favourite, beat filly Loyal Lady by two lengths. Both the horses were perfectly ridden by Zubair.

Rider Sohail completed his double while imposing second favourite filly Zahrat Dubai to a maiden one length victory in the fourth race.
