LAHORE: A 52-year-old woman was shot at and killed by her rivals who intruded into her residence to target her in Jhaidu village of Khana early on Tuesday.

Khana police said Perveen, wife of Amanat Ali, was asleep when three suspects entered the house, shot the woman and fled.

Preliminary police inquiries showed that Perveen was pursuing the case of her son Afzal who was in jail in connection with the murder of Mumtaz, a relative of suspects Akbar and Shahid.

Police shifted the body for autopsy, registered a murder case against Akbar, Shahid and their accomplice and began raids to arrest the suspects.
