Sad to see so many trees are cut for Christmas. Bleeds our heart. This should be stopped, instead they should use trees out of recycled waste.

I feel suffocated , at the same time, I think everybody has right to practice their beliefs. Cheers!

don't worry guys, once in a year they should celebrate how they want. they are also growing trees a lot more than we cut in Asia or Africa.

These trees are grown in private farms for the purpose of the festival. They are not cut from forests. Compared to the west,India and Pakistan where trees are cut with impunity, could learn a thing or two!

Cutting trees for festival is not good, but at least they are not killing animals.

It's already been stated above but all the trees in Europe used for Xmas Trees are specially grown on small patches of land. Some are even 'root-balled' so they can be grown in a pot and used year on year (in theory).
After the xmas period, most authorities collect the trees for recycling into biomass or mulch.
Hope that clears the matter up :)

@debadutta These trees are not forestry. They plant for this purpose only. They will plant more than what they cut each year, due to increasing demand.
