History and state

Published November 15, 2014

THIS is apropos Peerzada Salman’s article ‘History and State discussed’ (Oct 22). It was a timely and thought-provoking discussion on History and State. However, I think a few questions were not raised and answered, maybe intentionally or otherwise.

What is an Islamic state? How is it going to satisfy followers of all fiqah?

If not, what is the best alternative?

Last but not least, is it viable to separate religion from the state?
