Praiseworthy abuses were what British-Pakistani actor Riz Ahmed received from veteran Indian actor, Naseeruddin Shah. Known for his brilliant performance as Changez in The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013), Riz has also starred in critically acclaimed film Four Lions (2010).

According to Hindustan Times, Riz said Naseeruddin Shah was among his favourite actors. He also shared his first encounter with the great actor:

“I met Naseer saab at Prithvi Theatre. He came up to me and instead of saying a ‘hello’, repeated the Urdu cuss words that I used in Four Lions.”

He added: “He then said, ‘very good choice of gaalis’. To get a compliment this big from someone like him was an absolutely wonderful feeling.”

Riz was recently seen in crime thriller Nightcrawlers alongside Jake Gyllenhall and has been nominated in Gotham Independent Film Awards in the category Breakthrough Actor.

The actor also shared that he greatly admires Bollywood actors Irfan Khan and Aamir Khan and ‘likes the kind of issues he (Aamir) works on’.
