PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Thursday witnessed a rumpus and exchange of harsh words among the treasury and opposition benches when Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members protested against the opposition leader’s remarks.
The house echoed with “Go Nawaz Go!” and “Ro Imran Ro!” (cry Imran cry) chants when female members of the ruling party protested against Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Lutfur Rehman’s remarks that PTI stages a “daily female dance show in it’s Islamabad sit-in.”
Minister for Public Works, Shah Farman and MPA Fazal Elahi of PTI tried to reach the opposition benches and engaged in a physical scuffle with opposition members. The Assembly’s security staff, however, stopped them and tried to vacate the assembly hall of those involved in the incident.
The entire house then echoed with slurs as it became difficult for the security staff to control the enraged Minister for Public Health, Shah Farman and advisor to CM, Fazale Elahi.
Farman, later told reporters outside the assembly hall that the opposition leader used derogatory remarks against PTI’s female workers who he said were protesting against the poll rigging.
He said that Maulana Lutfur Rehman spoke in the same tone in which JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman addresses public meetings.
“He should know the difference between assembly floor and public meeting,” Shah Farman said, adding that the opposition leader’s remarks were against Islamic and Pukhtun culture.
Special relief package sought from Islamabad
Earlier, a unanimous resolution was passed by the house, demanding of the federal government for declaring the province as war-affected and announcement of a special relief package for bringing improvement in its socio-economic condition.
The resolution presented by Sardar Hussain, a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA from Chitral said that the province has remained a victim of terrorism for last several years.
He said that terrorism has inflicted severe damages on the economy of the province and unemployment has increased by manifold forcing the people to live below the poverty line.

The politics of Maulana's is always about derogating women, such are their supporters, such is their vote base.....they themselves only used religion for political gains and power instead of forming a bond with Almighty and serving humanity...shame on such individuals\politicians.....there should be no room for politics in religion, politicians should study political, social and civic sciences and religious scholars should concentrate on teaching and preaching religion, combination of two has proved to be a disaster for this country.

Shah Farman said, hat the opposition leader’s remarks were against Islamic and Pukhtun culture. My comments: " Why people drag Islam in their "Un-Islamic and uncivilized fights"? Does Islam only belong to Pukhtun and not Sindh, Punjab, Baluchistan and rest of the world?

I guess it is too much to expect that Pakistani "Elected Officials" consider the fact that the job of running the country is much more important than their ego's? Is it still expecting too much of a maturity level from these people that just because a person calls another a "dancing girl", it doesn't make them one? One's level of self respect can not be defined by the words of another. Especially when taken into account that these people are there doing such an important work for a province that needs it so desperately.
More than anything else I truly feel sad and sorry for these people, the ones hurling the hateful words and the ones even giving them a second thought. Jahalat ki inteha

All of you blaming IK, have any of you ,perchance seen the proceedings in Japanese parliament? Does IK put them up to those scuffles? Such scenes have happened in the " largest democracy" too! The real issue , which you ppl have overlooked is the language used by some ppl for respectable ladies! Shame! All male chauvinists are just scared because women are actually coming out of the four walls that you ppl want them to stay in!

@T bone PTI does not need voters like you. You guys look at metro or some thing physical in nature and claim progress. Education, better police system or anything abstract in nature, does not mean anything to you. Bring PTI in power in the central and then decide whether they failed or what. You have already seen PPP and PMLN. what have they done. History is in front of you. try some one you have not tried.

Be respectful guys.
Politicians should be ready for personal attacks --- they chose to be a public figure. ( comes with the job)
But be respectful to protesting people / women / children.
It's good to see a suppressed class ( women - children ) out , asking for their rights. After all women come out in PPPs jalsas too. ( remember recent Bilawals Karachis jalsa. Doing Bhangra ).
Being a leader of Islamic party does not give you the right to bash women. If at all -- they should be even more supportive of women ---if they had any objections -- should have used a decent tone.
And anyways--- all party's are Muslims --

Females were dancing in the sit-in, It is the truth; calling out the obvious is not derogatory or even a lie.
The bone of contention here is that females were dancing and shouldn't be - it's none of the maulana's business what they were doing. Why does that concern anyone?

Dear All,
I think Maulana don,t know about assembly rules and regulations bcoz it is strictly prohibited to use derogatory remarks against someone on the floor of assembly. Maulana can use these words in public gatherings but the floor of assembly is different place. Also the reaction of few members of treasury benches was not positive but the person who started all this scuffle was only Maulana.

What PTI forgets is that JI is its coalition partner in KPK, to whom PTI has given the key ministry of education. The molvis in kpk have already started to wreck the education system in kpk by introducing "religious" remarks in textbooks, and PTI is OK with that. But when the same JI turns around and refers to women dancing around Imran Khan's container, PTI causes bedlam in the provincial assembly. Such is the hypocrisy and intellectual and moral decay that Imran Khan has introduced in just one year in kpk.

Shahed Ali Patwary (Bengali শহীদ আলী পাটোয়ারী; 1899-1958) was a lawyer and prominent politician. He was elected as member of East Pakistan Provincial Assembly. In 1955 he was elected as Deputy Speaker. On 23 September 1958 he was injured in a fight in the assembly and died two days later.
