Sindh Bank posts Rs1.08bn profit

KARACHI: The Sindh Bank posted pre-tax-profit of Rs1.08 billion for the (nine months) period ended Sept 30, 2014, an increase of 20 per cent over the corresponding period of last year, said a press release.

Deposits stood at Rs58.422bn, a growth of 27.7pc; while advances amounted to Rs37.585bn, up by 41.5pc over 2013. The bank earned total profit of Rs0.95bn during the whole year 2013.

Soneri Bank earns Rs1.75bn

KARACHI: Soneri Bank Limited posted pre-tax-profit of Rs1.75 billion for the (nine months) period ended Sept 30, 2014, said a press release.

The bank’s total revenue amounted to Rs6.56bn, up by 22.13 per cent from Rs5.37bn of last year. The deposits also registered growth of 7.00pc to close at Rs150.43bn from Rs140.58bn of last year.

NBP launches new remittance scheme

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Friday launched ‘Foree Remittance Account’ scheme to facilitate money transfers by overseas Pakistanis.

The scheme was launched by NBP President Iqbal Ashraf. Addressing the media, he highlighted the role of the bank for channelising remittances.

“Being a public sector bank, NBP constantly strives to serve the customers better. The addition of NBP Foree Remittance Account in the remittance product range is a step in that direction,” he said.
