PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is set to take stock of its development policy implementation in a high-level meeting to be held in Islamabad today (Friday).

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak will chair the meeting, to be attended among others by bilateral and multilateral development partners, including the DFID, World Bank, ADB, USAID, Canada, EU, JICA, Germany and UN agencies.

Senior minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, holding portfolio of health and science and technology, senior minister Inayatullah Khan, holding portfolio of the local government and rural development, minister for elementary and secondary education Mohammad Atif, minister for information and higher education Mushtaq Ghani and finance minister Muzaffar Said advocate will also attend the meeting.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has embarked on a reforms programme that focuses on making the government accountable and transparent and uplifting people’s life standard.

The dialogue aims at communicating the reform agenda to the development partners so they could follow the government’s vision in an integrated manner.

The Strategic Development Partnership Programme (SDPF) lays down a solid foundation for aligning the donors’ financial assistance with the country’s policies and priorities as well as the system.

The government has formulated Integrated Development Strategy (IDS). The IDS comprehensively articulates the strategic objectives of SDPF by elaborating sector plans thereby identifying initiatives/tasks to be undertaken in various sectors of the government.
