TOBA TEK SINGH: The Interior Ministry has declared 38 arms licences of Toba Tek Singh fake.

In a letter to the district police, the ministry sought action against those holding fake licences.

District Police Officer Dr Shahzad Asif said action would be taken against such licence holders under the law.

DEADLINE: Jewellers expressed concern on Wednesday at the failure of city police to trace a Rs6 million gold dacoity.

Their representative, Rana Khalid Mahmood, gave a deadline of one week to the police in a meeting with Saddar DSP Mian Akram to trace the case or face an agitation.

Four robbers had plundered gold ornaments worth Rs6.1 million from a jewellery shop on Railway Maal Godam Road outside the grain market here on Oct 18.

The delegation said investigation officer Muhammad Asghar was not taking interest in the investigation of the case.

DEMO: Scores of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activists staged a demonstration against price hike and inflated electricity bills on Wednesday on Jhang Road outside the district press club.

The protest was led by PTI leader and former district nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq, acting district PTI president Arif Qazi, Saeed Ahmad Saeedi and Khawar Sher.

Protesters amid chants of “Go Nawaz Go” demanded immediate end of electricity and gas loadshedding and a cut in the prices of petroleum products.
