'Gidh': Another Shaan, Shamoon Abbasi film coming up

The teaser trailer for top actors Shaan Shahid and Shamoon Abbasi's next cinematic collaboration, Gidh released on Monday.

Although not much has been given away in the trailer, the movie appears to be of the action/fantasy genre.

Shamoon Abbasi is shown with angel (vulture?) wings, descending from the sky with Shaan giving him 'the look', with his hair flying in the wind.

Directed by Shamoon Abbasi, the film also stars Sara Loren, Ayesha Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi.

In the past, Shaan and Shamoon have worked on blockbuster movies like Bilal Lashari's Waar and more recently, Jami's Operation 021, which was released on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha.

According to the upcoming movie's official Facebook page, Gidh is a romantic thriller. It is clear that the film aims to up the ante in terms of special effects, perhaps venturing into areas Pakistan's film industry is yet to explore.

Shaan has great star presence but you also need a whole new breed to replace him. I see the same actors again and again. The audience needs variety.

Well, enough with shan's films. He can do as much films as he wants but the producers should acknowledege that people do appereciate new faces. There are numerous good actors in Pakistan who should be given a chance. The best example is Na-Maloom Afraad, which has a no of new actors and is doing great at cinemas.

This looks more like animation than special effects...advice for the stakeholders: put graphic characters inplace of shaan and shamoon and publicize it as its made for kids.

This is called as true talent. Where the acting is natural, the direction is worldclass and the story is original. Not the usual trash emanating from bollywood.

Gidh is scavenger bird, which eats dead body, carcasses . I am not sure the lead actor wants to represent that.

Shaan is in the title role. Title suits him really well. He is a vulture preying on Pakistani Film Industry for last so many years. His fitness level is a joke and he looks more like an Aaloo than a gidh. Shamoon looked so Campy, was he trying to make Shaan look Manly?

OK so the name of the movie is Gidh and we have seen the teaser trailer as well. That does not necessarily mean that Shaan will be a vulture in the movie. Nor that it is an animated movie. The name Gidh might refer to the characteristics of the creature. Cunning, deceiving and causing harm to others. Love the way some people are suggesting different birds names for Shaan. We have only 1 individual in our industry that has the star presence that can match overseas and all we do is....get tired of him???? way to go people.......
