LAHORE: Under a direction from the chief minister, all administrative secretaries will offer Eid prayers with the flood-hit people and spend the day with them.

This was stated by Relief Commissioner Nadeem Ashraf while presiding over a meeting at the Civil Secretariat here on Saturday. Secretaries of various departments attended the meeting.

The on-going process of distribution of financial assistance among the affectees would be completed before Eid, he said.

He asked the secretaries to arrange sacrificial animals and food for the flood affectees with the cooperation of philanthropists. He said despite bank holiday on Sunday, the process of payment of financial assistance would continue.

He said 35,000 Eid gifts would be distributed among the affectees and sweets among children.

Eid camps would also be set up in the affected areas and dry ration would be provided to the people.
