PESHAWAR: Teachers and students took keen interest in a book fair arranged by a non-governmental organisation here on Wednesday. Da Lass Gul Welfare Programme arranged the book fair in collaboration with the Asia Foundation where costly books on different topics were displayed. MPA Meraj Humayun Khan inaugurated the fair.

Speaking on the occasion, the woman lawmaker urged the students to have love for books to increase their knowledge. She said that book reading, which had diminished in present times, had great importance in enhancing knowledge and creating awareness. Meraj Khan urged parents to make proper timetable for their children so they could give a good amount of time to both their routine study and extra-curriculum activities, including book reading. Books were distributed to teachers so they could make them part of their respective schools’ libraries.
