KARACHI: More than 600 special athletes from 39 schools of Karachi will demonstrate their skills on the eve of the World Eunice Kennedy Shriver Day here at the Sailing Club on Thursday.

The athletes will feature in unified events of cricket, basketball, football and table tennis. The annual event is being organised by Special Olympic Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that more than one hundred countries are celebrating this day.

Eunice Kennedy Shriver’s actions helped open the minds of all people to the gifts and talents of individuals with intellectual disabilities. She believed in their possibilities, which fuel hope in all of us to make a difference.

Shriver demonstrated an unrelenting indomitable spirit in action that one person could make a difference and change the world.
