KARACHI: The anti-smuggling wing of customs intelligence on Tuesday foiled an attempt of smuggling of huge quantity of Iranian origin rubber processing oil.

According to official sources, the customs intelligence during the month has so far seized different goods, like tiles, pad locks, chemicals and HSD oil having a market value of Rs39 million.

Mohammad Asif Marghoob Siddique, director, customs intelligence, confirmed that officials of his department intercepted a truck carrying smuggled Iranian origin rubber processing oil and impounded the oil and the truck.

He further said that criminal proceedings are being initiated against the truck driver who was arrested on the spot.
