GUJRANWALA: Anti-Terrorism Court No 2 judge Ittefaq Abbasi on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and 71 others and ordered police to produce them in court on Sept 22.

Police told the court Dr Qadri was in Islamabad where his guards had cordoned off the container he was living in and his arrest was not possible. Police said his arrest could aggravate the law and order situation.

The court ordered that he should be arrested along with 71 other accused and produced in the court on Sept 22.

Kamoki Saddar police had registered a case against them under the terrorism act and various other offences on charges of attacking police officials and injuring more than 70 of them, including DSP Rashid Sindhu and two station house officers, during their 'long march' on GT Road, Sadhoki.

Previously, the court had issued their arrest warrants on Aug 23, Sept 1, Sept 8 and Sept 15.
