LAHORE: The Punjab government on Monday approved 10 development schemes worth Rs7.3 billion.

Presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi, the 13th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of 2014-15 approved construction of an overhead bridge on railway lines between Jahanian Road to Saddar Police Station and Abdul Ghafoor Road at Khanewal at Rs661.057 million.

Approved road schemes included rehabilitation/dualisation of Sheikhupura-Muridke road in Sheikhupura district at Rs2.6 billion; dualisation of the road from National Model School to Faisalabad Road/Sharaqpur Chowk through Sarwar Shaheed Road, stadium and Qila City Sheikhupura at Rs1.2 billion; widening of the road from Kot Nainan to Sukho Chak in Narowal district at Rs465.466 million.

Also approved were widening/improvement of road from Kot Sujjan Singh to Jandiali Banglow in Khanewal district at Rs226.276 million; widening of the road from Tranda Muhammad Panah to Allahabad in Rahim Yar Khan at Rs235.103 million; construction of a dual carriageway from Burewala to Chichawatni Road in Vehari district at Rs980.233 million; widening and extension of metalled road from Qadira Kot Mithan Bridge to Head Hamid for Rs271.945 million; widening/improvement of the road from Fazilpur to Hajipur (Phase-I) at Dera Ghazi Khan for Rs259.468 million and widening and extension of metalled road from Bait Sountra to Sahanwala at Dera Ghazi Khan for Rs331.916 million.
