LAHORE: The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) on Sunday claimed to have arrested nine suspects and recovered two stolen cars and 15 motorcycles from their possession during the last 15 days.

SP Umer Riaz constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP AVLS City Muhammad Yaqoob Awan that arrested Adeel alias Adeela, a ring leader of a motorcycle lifters gang, and his accomplice Amjad. During preliminary interrogations, the gangsters confessed to dozens of incidents of motorcycle lifting in Tibbi City, Gujjurpura, Shadbagh, Harbanspura, Islampura, Lower Mall and Shafiqabad.

Chuhng Circle police smashed two gangs of vehicle thieves, arrested their seven members and recovered two cars and four motorcycles besides illegal weapons from their possession.

DSP Chuhng Anwar Saeed Kingra told the media those arrested included Shabeer, Usman, Amer, Aftab, Safdar, Sunni and Zahid Iqbal.
