The joint session of the parliament would adopt another resolution for upholding the Constitution and supremacy of the Parliament.

Highly placed sources told Dawn.com that a meeting, chaired by the PM, condemned the attack on Parliament House by protestors and termed it against the Constitution.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif again offered dialogue to PTI and PAT leaders aimed at ending the ongoing impasse in the country.

Sources have also told Dawn.com that Nawaz Sharif issued new directives to Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan to ensure the security of state institutions located at Constitution Avenue by utilising all resources.

The meeting appreciated the act of the police against violent attackers.

"Invasion on PM house was made despite commitment of not doing this," said an official statement issued after the meeting.

The meeting also decided to accept a proposal by Opposition leader Khurshid Shah who had suggested for convening a joint session of Parliament during his speech on Friday before NA session.
