KARACHI: A senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker was killed and a passer-by was wounded in a gun attack in Orangi Town on Friday, officials said.

They added that armed pillion-riders opened fire on 55-year-old Ghulam Nabi aka Bhaya in Sector 7 and sped away leaving him along with a passer-by, Aqeel, wounded.

Both victims were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Ghulam Nabi was pronounced dead. Aqeel sustained wounds in his hand.

“The victim was a senior MQM worker,” said Orangi SHO Tanveer Murad, “but he had been inactive for the past four to five years when he lost his leg in an accident”.

Currently, he was associated with the construction business, the officer added.
