KARACHI: Left-arm paceman Shams-ul-Amin excelled by taking four wickets as Metropolitan CC trounced Hyderi Sports by seven wickets to reach the semi-finals KCCA Zone-VI ‘A’ Division League Cricket Tournament here on Wednesday.

Shams took 4-17 to send Hyderi Sports reeling to 111 all out in the 26th over of their innings at the Afza Cricket Ground. Spinners Mohammad Zubair and Alam Khurshid Shah claimed two wickets each.

Metropolitan CC got home easily by making 113-3 in the 19th over with Asim Shah (48 not out) and Fahaddis Bukhari (41) scoring the bulk of runs.

Alamgir Gymkhana also made to the knockout phase after inflicting an eight-wicket defeat on National Gymkhana at the RLCA Ground in North Karachi.

Off-spinner Nabeel Hashmi bagged three wickets for 10 runs, Mohammad Waqas three for 14 and Jaahid Ali 2-6 as National Gymkhana were bundled out for 99 at the start of the 31st over.

Alamgir Gymkhana then blitz their way to victory by scoring 101-2 in only 8.2 overs.
