MANSEHRA: The district administration on Monday seized a huge quantity of unhygienic ghee prepared from the remains of chickens and animals, and arrested a man stated to be the owner of the factory.

We sealed the factory located in Mansehra industrial area during a raid and arrested its owner,” said assistant commissioner Dr Qasim Ali Khan, while talking to mediapersons.

He said that the oil, which was being packed in containers in the name of a ghee factory in Hattar Industrial Area in Haripur was made of remains of animals and chickens.

A case was lodged against the factory owner, Badar Munir, under sections 273, 269 and 419/420 of CrPC.

The assistant commissioner said this was the second such factory to have been sealed during last one week, adding that nobody could be allowed to play with lives of people through production of such unhygienic oil and ghee.

Mr Ali appealed to people to extend support in curbing such illegal activities in the district.

MAN LOOTED: Armed robbers shot and injured salesman of a cellular phone company and deprived him of Rs0.8 million cash and a mobile set here on Monday.

Mohammad Fareed, who, according to police, received bullet injuries when he resisted the robbery bid, said a group of armed robbers appeared in front of him when he was going to work in the morning and snatched cash and a mobile set with an easy load balance of Rs10 million from him.

The city police after registering FIR started making efforts to arrest the culprits who escaped the area.

HONOUR KILLING: A man killed his wife in name of honour in Darband area of Oghi on Sunday night. The incident occurred in Pul Dogha locality.

A woman registered case with police stating that her son-in-law, suspecting his wife to have illicit relations with a man, shot her dead.

Local people told reporters that the woman was talking to someone over phone when her husband shot her dead.

The body was taken to hospital and handed over to family after postmortem.Police registered case and began investigation.

In another incident, a man shot dead his brother over a minor issue in College Doraha area on Monday.

Nusrullah told police that his brothers, Mohammad Hussain and Azizullah, clashed over a minor issue, after which Hussain took out a weapon and killed Azizullah. The city police registered case and began investigation.
