TOBA TEK SINGH: A nine-year-old girl died when the school gate fell on her on Monday near Shorkot Cantonment.

According to her parents, Laraib, a fourth grade student, was entering the Government Primary School of Chak, 497-JB, when the gate fell on her. She died on her way to hospital.

PROTEST: Villagers and shopkeepers blocked traffic on Monday on Gojra-Faisalabad Road near Adda Dawakhri in protest at a theft incident.

Protesters told reporters thieves took away valuables and cash from several shops and a house from Chak 281-JB one week ago. They struck again some other shops and a house on late on Sunday taking away valuables worth millions. Gojra Deputy Superintendent of Police Atif Imran Qureshi held talks with the protesters and assured them that police would launch a crackdown on criminals.
