THIS is an appeal by a 70-year-old man to the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court.Your Lordship, I have a case pending at the High Court of Sindh. Some months back my lawyer had requested the court that my case be transferred to the category of the elderly, whereby I would get a weekly hearing date.

The irony of this change is that in some five months I have not been heard at a single hearing. This is because the serial number given to me is usually from 60 to above 100. By the time the court reaches these numbers the court gets up for the day.

The position of the elderly is of utter hopelessness.I pray that your lordship be considerate to the aged and ensure that they do get at least two hearings a month. My only request is that the elderly get such serial numbers that they do get a hearing at an early hour.
