KASUR: Three robbers shot dead a man near Rao Khanwala in the limits of Raja Jang police station on Tuesday.

Reports said Nafees Ahmed of Lahore along with his friends, Bilal and Gul Jan, was on his way to Kasur from Raiwind when the robbers stopped his bike, but he tried to speed away. One of the robbers opened indiscriminate fire injuring Nafees seriously. He died while being taken to a hospital.

Police were looking into the matter.

Ten robbers barged into the house of Muhammad Tahir at Kot Kalas Gama village in the limits of Kanganpur police station and held the family hostage at gunpoint. They gathered 22-tola gold, Rs700,000 in cash and six weapons and fled with the booty.

Police are going into the matter.
