LAHORE: The mediation centre of LCCI sets a new record by resolving 13 business disputes in six months.

Resolved in just a few hours, the latest case which was 13th to the credit of this centre pertained to a Euro 50,000 dispute between a domestic and a foreign company, says a release on Monday.

Involving international and local companies all the 13 cases have been affably solved with the help of internationally trained mediators registered with the LCCI.

“It is a service which assists the business community smoothly sail out of the shackles of tribulations and predicaments of disputes, leaving intact the self-respect of the complainant and the respondent consequently disparaging neither party by any kind of vilification,” said the release.

One of the many feats of the LCCI mediation centre has been the amicable settlement of this high-profile case which had high stakes on the foreign investment in Pakistan. Above all the country’s repute as an investment nurturing state could have gone on stake.

The situation wasn’t easy. It was sensitive and inflammable but the process was handled tactfully by LCCI President Sohail Lashari who was requested by senior members and mediation centre team to mediate the case himself. The speed of settlement was rapid. The entire mediation was wrapped up in one sitting within a brief couple of hours’ time. Both the parties were content and pleased embracing each other with no injury in their mutual relations, said the release.
