KHUZDAR: At least seven passengers were injured in a blast targeting a bus in Balochistan's Khuzdar district on Monday, Levies personnel said.

A Levies official who requested anonymity told Dawn that militants targeted the passenger bus through a remote-controlled bomb in Khuzdar district’s Garisha area.

The official said that the explosion was the result of a roadside bomb to target the bus coming from Turbat.

He said those injured in the incident were rushed to Civil Hospital Khuzdar for medical treatment.

The injured were shifted to the hospital by locals since there were no rescue workers to carry out relief activities.

The condition of two of the injured passengers was said to be critical.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Khuzdar is considered one of the most sensitive districts of Balochistan where militants have been targeting security forces and national installations for more than a decade.

Worsening law and order situation has forced hundreds of families to migrate from Khuzdar to different parts of Balochistan and Sindh.
