BADIN: Badin police on Sunday arrested 19 more farmers after registering 17 cases of water theft against 92 people.

Badin SSP Sarfaraz Nawaz Shaikh said that during the ongoing drive against water thieves launched on July 24 under a directive of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, raids were carried out to arrest the persons who had tampered with dykes to illegally divert the flow of irrigation water to their own lands.

He said tampering with dykes was found at 48 spots while 29 illegal pipes fixed to divert water were removed.
