KARACHI: Two suspected militants were killed in a shootout with Rangers in Musharaf Colony late on Saturday, officials said.

On a tip off that militants associated with the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s Mohmand and Bajaur Agency chapters were present in Musharraf Colony, the Rangers conducted a raid in the area.

“As the Rangers troops were cordoning off the area, they came under heavy fire by the militants,” said the spokesman for the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh.

The paramilitary troops returned the fire and in the gun-battle two militants were killed. They were identified as Fauji Khan and Mohammad Jan alias Jana. They were said to be involved in various terrorist activities.
