Shireen Mazari lashes out at former CJ Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Vowing to “expose the nexus between former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and the Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PMLN) over the alleged poll rigging," Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Dr Shireen Mazari termed the ex-CJ an 'opening batsman' of the ruling party.
The press release came the same day Justice (retd) Chaudhry sent a defamation notice worth 20 billion rupees to PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Chaudhry’s lawyers, while speaking to media representatives outside the Supreme Court, said Imran Khan was attempting to disparage and malign the superior judiciary.
Mazari said her party welcomes this opportunity to “expose the nexus between the ex-CJ and the PMLN especially over the rigging of the May 2013 election and the cover-up that followed.”
“This is what derailed democracy. PTI intends to restore and strengthen democracy by exposing this planned mass rigging on August 14 through its Azadi March,” she added.
The PTI stalwart said the legal notice, apparently sent to the party chairman, was yet to be received. However, she made it clear that there was 'no way' the PTI and its chairman would back down.
Mazari reiterated her party’s resolve to go ahead with the August 14 march on Islamabad despite all alleged ‘tactics’ by the ruling party.
PTI chief Khan had accused the former chief justice of poll rigging in the 2013 general election.
Chaudhry's son, Arsalan Iftikhar, had alleged that Imran Khan did not fulfill the criterion set for being an elected representative of the people, as described in Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
Arsalan had said that there were doubts on Imran’s credibility to be elected as a parliamentarian.
Also recently, two lawyers had filed petitions against the PTI chief citing that the statements made by him maligned the former chief justice and other judges of the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan crossed the red line several times but got away with it and likewise Shreen too has the habit of putting her foot in the mouth. The former CJ should include her name in the defamation suit which will be quite justified as some wild accusations has been hurled against him by both.

PTI has not been able to prove the involvement of CJ, or Geo in alleged rigging . Just because Geo aired the speech of Nawaz shareef and CJ didnt take suo moto doesn't prove their involvement.
There should be a substantial evidence available before you start ruining someones reputation and start blame game. PTI is good for nothing except criticism.

IK is doing the right thing, he gave more than a year for these corrupt people to explain the rigging allegations, he even backed down to only 4 constituency - nothing happened (as usual in Pakistan everything just washes out with time and this is what PML-N and this Chaudhry was thinking). Now the only democratic way is to protest on the streets, and if someone has secured the PM seat through illegal means than he should be thrown out/banned and prosecuted.
I don't understand the people that say we should give them a chance to complete the term ? even though it was thru rigging ??? WHY ?

Shame on IK and PTI party members maligning the EX CJ of Pakistan and Judicial Institution. Now instead of fighting in court PTI has started dirty blame game to achieve its goals by unconstitutional way and street politics. If they really believe in public power than they should wait and let the people decide through ballot. IK and party must understand there is saying Jassi Karni Wasi Bharni. even if they get the desired results by hook or by crook they will face the same music by their opposition.

Love PTI. My issue with PMLN was never the fact that their performance is bad. Governments should be allowed to finish their terms even if their performance is bad. The problem was always the fact that PMLN came in illegitimately.

Apparently his Courage had taken a 7 year of vacation before him and his son's corruption came to light.

Do Pakistanis understand the Parliamentary type of democracy?
I find it funny when the the media wrote that PPP should be allowed to complete their five years term. Now the PPP is replaced by Muslim League N. In Parliamentary democracy the Party with majority votes in Parliament rules the country. The day opposition has enough votes, they can call for the vote of confidence and can dethrone the governing party. Therefore there is no guaranty in Parliamentary democracy that the ruling party can complete their 5 years term.

As a student of history, the good thing finally I see happening is that the mud slinging is bringing in awareness. IK's and Shireen Mazaris own fathers were removed from their job on corruption charges. As for Asad Umar, his father was part of the corrupt plan that killed Bengalis and led to fall of East Pakistan. Ironically Pakistan is still plagued by perpetual villains whose generations would hurt the land and its people. What to talk about the so called PMLN and PPP stalwarts..Its the same evil race as masters and same poor race as slaves..................For the time,Carry on Stupidity..
