SAHIWAL: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said the party is confident of gathering at least one million people for the ‘Independence March’ in Islamabad on Aug 14.

He said this while addressing his party’s regional, divisional and local office bearers at a hotel here on Sunday.

Mr Qureshi reiterated his demand that the PTI would lay the foundation of a new Pakistan.

He said the PTI would not give ticket to any landlord, feudal and industrialist.

It is learnt the PTI has formed committee and sub-committees to mobilise people, particularly youths and women, to participate in what the party leadership termed it one-million march.

Criticizing the PML-N and PPP, Mr Qureshi said both parties appeared to be private limited companies where the leadership was transferred to the next generation.

He said both political parties had enjoyed two terms in power, but they miserably failed to resolve even basic issues confronted by the people.

The PTI vice-chairman said the PPP was no more a Bhutto party but it had become a Zardari party.

Mr Qureshi also visited the party’s regional office along with PTI’s Punjab secretary-general Yasmin Rashid.
