KARACHI: The reconstruction of Abbas Town was completed on Saturday. The area had come under a deadly attack in May last year, when a truck exploded outside two apartment blocks on a Sunday evening. Following the attack, the provincial government took the responsibility of reconstructing apartments and shops for the people of Abbas Town.

An event was held on Saturday evening titled ‘Taqreeb-i-Azala-i-Gham’ to hand over the keys to the affected families.

According to officials at the site, 95 per cent of the construction has been completed. However, the project manager will stay back for a month in case there is an issue of electricity and water supplies.
